About the Company
Our client, a well-established and fast-growing CPA and advisory firm based in the Cincinnati, OH area, is looking for a Tax Manager ready to lead.
About the Role
The Tax Manager will own review and preparation of a mix of business and high-net-worth individual tax returns, weighted toward the business side, conduct technical tax research, and lead day-to-day mentorship of a team of associates and senior associates.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex business and high-net-worth individual tax returns
Conduct technical tax research on nuanced client matters
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of associates and senior associates' day to day
Partner with the firm's internal accounting group on work product that feeds into tax filings (no bookkeeping involved)
Manage tax filings across an expanding client base; no audit or assurance work
Work primarily in CCH Access Tax
Balance tactical execution (technical accuracy, deadlines, return quality) with strategic contribution (staff development, client relationships, and firm growth)
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of tax experience in public accounting
Background at a large firm or a small-to-mid-size public accounting firm — both welcome
CPA license strongly preferred
Professionals who left public accounting for industry and are ready to return are encouraged to apply

Required Skills
Experience reviewing both business and high-net-worth individual tax returns
Tax research experience
Experience mentoring or supervising associates or senior associates is a plus

Pay range and compensation package
Pay Rate: $100,000–$120,000 base + 7–10% performance bonus
Schedule: Hybrid — in-office during the heart of tax season (March–April), one remote day per week the rest of the year, and a condensed summer schedule (May through end of July) with Fridays off entirely
No mandatory weekend work
