Job description
Our client, a tenured public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead client relationships, manage complex tax engagements, and deliver proactive advisory services to privately held businesses and business owners. Key Responsibilities
Engagement Management: Oversee tax workflow, deadlines, budgets, and communication for business and individual accounts.
Review & Compliance: Review complex tax returns, including partnerships, S-corps, C-corps, and pass-through entities, ensuring multi-state and local tax compliance.
Advisory & Planning: Provide year-round strategic tax planning, entity structure consulting, and proactive business advisory support.
Team Leadership: Mentor, develop, and review the work of tax staff and seniors while collaborating directly with firm leadership.
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Active CPA or EA license.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting.
Strong technical knowledge of federal tax laws and return reviews.
Preferred
Experience with privately held businesses, pass-through entities, and multi-state/SALT considerations.
Proven track record in client relationship management and staff mentorship.
