Responsibilities

Deliver tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to middle‑market clients.

Work side‑by‑side with firm leadership to serve clients, build the business, and directly impact the firm’s success.

Coach a group of talented staff, developing their technical and professional skills.

Provide accounting, bookkeeping, and prepared or compiled financial services.

Review and analyze accounting records, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients regarding accounting and business matters.

Deliver best‑in‑class customer service with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism, and accuracy.

Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluate processes and procedures, and implement efficiencies and internal controls.

Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.

Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to resolve client issues, and assist team leaders with additional services.

Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines.

Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.

Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are met.

Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.

Invest in personal professional development through firm‑wide learning and development programs.

Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

Participate in social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s or advanced degree desirable.

CPA or JD required.

Five (5)+ years of experience providing tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.

Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.

Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.

Ability to lead and supervise others, deliver exceptional client service, and show commitment to continuous learning.

Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.

Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
