Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to help lead and grow our tax practice in Paramus, New Jersey. This individual will oversee tax compliance and planning engagements, manage client relationships, develop staff, and contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the tax department.
Responsibilities
Review and prepare complex tax returns
Manage quarterly and annual tax projections
Oversee tax compliance and planning engagements
Maintain quality control throughout the tax process
Coordinate staffing and workflow across tax engagements
Mentor, train, and develop tax professionals
Create and present internal CPE programs
Build strong, long-term client relationships
Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding each client’s business
Support proposals and new business opportunities
Improve tax department processes and operating efficiencies
Contribute to strategic planning and firm growth initiatives
Qualifications
Active CPA license required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Five or more years of public accounting or CPA firm experience
Strong tax preparation and review background
Experience managing multiple engagements at the same time
Prior staff supervision, mentoring, or leadership experience
Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting, or an MBA, preferred
Experience with ProSystem fx Tax, QuickBooks, Sage, and advanced Microsoft Excel
CCH Engagement experience preferred

The strongest candidate will combine hands-on tax expertise with confident leadership, excellent client service, and an interest in helping grow the practice. This person should be comfortable reviewing complex work, developing staff, managing competing deadlines, and identifying ways to improve the tax function
