Job description

Headway Recruitment is recruiting a Tax Manager for an international group in full expansion. With new countries and new legal entities being added at a steady pace, the group’s structure keeps getting more complex, and so does the need for solid, carefully documented tax work. That is where you come in. You join the central tax team as the right hand of the Tax Director and work hand in hand with Finance to keep the group’s tax position in multiple countries on track.

About the job

You report directly to the Tax Director and cover a broad scope: structuring, compliance and optimisation, in many countries and across a variety of topics. Direct tax, transfer pricing and international tax are your core domains. Your added value lies in making technical matters understandable, so that management can decide with confidence. Expect to be involved in structuring projects, transfer pricing and group-wide tax processes right away. You combine expert knowledge with a hands‑on attitude and work closely with colleagues across departments. The result: stronger processes, more consistency and better tax support for every group entity, wherever it is located.

What your days look like

Group entities turn to you with questions on direct tax, transfer pricing and international tax. You give them answers that are practical and well‑founded.

When the business plans a decision, you map out the tax consequences, suggest the right course of action and stay involved until it is implemented, keeping risk and tax costs under control.

You support the Belgian head office on its tax matters and take part in global tax processes and transfer pricing topics, from audits and compliance to documentation, optimisation and policy.

You are involved in international structuring, the tax side of acquisitions and selected reorganisations, such as mergers or changes in legal form.

Each quarter and at year‑end, you contribute to tax accounting, including tax provisions and deferred taxes. Where needed, you also help shape audit strategy, coordinate external advisors and support tax disputes, both administrative and in court.

You collaborate with Legal, Finance and local teams across countries. You take ownership of your files and look for ways to improve how things are done.

You further develop the internal tax compliance calendar and set the standards for tax documentation.

Who we are looking for

You hold a Master's degree; a postgraduate degree in tax is a plus.

You bring 5 or more years of corporate tax experience, gained in a multinational, at a Big 4 firm, or in both.

Belgian corporate tax and Belgian tax accounting hold no secrets for you. Experience with other European countries is a real asset.

You have a sound knowledge of transfer pricing.

Managing compliance for several entities in several jurisdictions does not scare you; you are comfortable with complexity.

You work analytically and precisely, and you write in a clear and concise way, for colleagues as well as external parties.

You speak English fluently. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong asset.

Why you'll want this job

Compliance is only part of the story. Acquisitions, changing structures and new markets are part of daily life in this group. You deal with questions that matter right now: assigning contracts, setting up new entities, supporting tax due diligence for acquisitions, and building positions that call for a solid written memo, not just a calculation. You can reach the Tax Director directly, you own your workstreams and you help build a tax function that grows along with the group.

The package

A competitive salary that reflects your experience.

A choice between an electric company car with charging card and a flexible mobility budget.

Meal vouchers of €8 per day and hospitalisation insurance.

Up to 4 additional days off based on seniority.

A flexible benefits plan: use your 13th month budget for what suits you, such as extra leave, technology or a bicycle.
