An established national accounting and advisory firm is looking for an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join its Denver team.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working across both business and individual taxation, managing client relationships and taking responsibility for complex tax engagements.
Rather than being restricted to one specialist area, you'll have the opportunity to work across different tax matters, advise clients on planning opportunities and develop the next generation of tax professionals.
The firm also offers flexibility around working arrangements, including the potential to consider reduced working hours.
The Opportunity
You'll manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients, overseeing compliance, planning and engagement delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage annual federal and state tax compliance engagements.
Review and sign tax returns for S-Corporations, C-Corporations, Partnerships and individuals.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential tax exposures.
Provide proactive tax planning advice to business owners and individual clients.
Oversee tax projections, extensions and quarterly estimated payments.
Research technical tax matters and prepare client memoranda.
Manage responses to IRS and state tax notices.
Take responsibility for engagement planning, scheduling, deadlines and billing.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Supervise, train and mentor associates and interns.
Ensure engagements are delivered accurately and within statutory deadlines.
What We're Looking For
10+ years of recent tax compliance experience.
Public accounting experience preferred.
CPA, EA or Bar License required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Strong experience with S-Corporation, C-Corporation, Partnership and individual taxation.
Previous experience managing client engagements and supervising staff.
Strong technical tax research and communication skills.
Ability to identify tax planning opportunities.
Confidence managing multiple engagements independently.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Experience with fiduciary, estate and gift taxation, not-for-profit organisations or private foundations would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Candidates must be based in the Denver area or willing to relocate.
