Job Title: Tax Specialist
Location: On Site - Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, United States
Salary: $120,000-$200,000

This role offers the chance to lead tax engagements, mentor junior staff, and develop deep client relationships while advancing toward partnership and long‑term career growth.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals.
Provide tax planning and consulting services for closely held businesses and business owners.
Supervise tax compliance engagements from planning through completion.
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching and technical guidance.
Research and interpret current federal tax laws and regulations.
Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
Collaborate with partners and other professionals to develop practical tax strategies.
Must-Have Skills:
8+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Extensive experience preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns.
In‑depth knowledge of current federal tax laws affecting privately held businesses and owners.
Proven ability to supervise engagements and review the work of junior staff.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
CPA license preferred (or equivalent extensive experience).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with trust and estate taxation, including estate and gift tax matters.
Familiarity with tax issues for not‑for‑profit organizations.
Demonstrated expertise in tax planning and consulting for complex structures.
Strong staff mentoring and leadership abilities. xzgxqkn
Experience with multi‑state (SALT) tax compliance and tax resolution projects.
