Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.1st Shift - Full Time (Assembly)As a Team Leader at Caterpillar Inc., you will assist the department supervisor to implement daily production plans supporting the organization's vision and quality objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to:Follows all applicable policies and procedures including safety and healthRequired to work overtime schedule as requested to meet production needs based on established overtime proceduresIssue day to day instruction/details to employees to satisfy the needs and requirements of the daily buildRespond with urgency to situations, resolving issues or engaging support resources as neededResponsible for the safety for self and others entering the work area, ensuring proper PPE use as requiredEnsure employees are trained properlyBe a role model for the Caterpillar culture - reinforcing Our Values in ActionAssist in the creation, training and implementation of standardized work processesEnsure essential information is shared with Section Manager in a timely manner to include quality, staffing, safety and production issuesKeep work area clean and organized according to 5S standards, maintain all toolsAvailable to assist in other areas as neededEnter Purchase OrdersChampion End to End Built In QualityQuality Gate/In Process Validation as neededAssembly Quality Event Entry as neededAssist in Rework management and instructionAbility to work as an Assembler in production as needed (Team Lead may spend as much as 70% of time assembling if needed)Required Qualifications:Assembly line experienceGood working knowledge Built in Quality (BIQ), and Assembly Quality Event (AQE)Ability to communicate effectively both oral and writtenAbility to work overtimeDesired Qualifications:Good computer skills with working knowledge/experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power PointWorking knowledge of SAPDisplays key competenciesKey Competencies:LeadershipChange AgentAbility to Train OthersCommunication SkillsTeamworkProblem SolvingInitiative/MotivationPositive AttitudeFlexibilityPhysical Demands:Must be physically mobile with ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach and climbMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 lbs minimally, up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequentlyMust be able to see, hear and speakWork Environment:Subject to inside environmental conditions – protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes – exposure to occasional temperature extremes (below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees)Subject to outside environmental conditionsAdditional Information:1st Shift (7:00 am to 3:30 pm)Pay starts at $19.85 hrFull time position - benefits, holidays, and 401K eligibility includedRelocation assistance is not offered for this positionSummary Pay Range: $19.85 - $30.69Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
