Job description

Production Supervisor – 1st ShiftPay: $27.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience Shift: 5:30 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Thursday; overtime as scheduled Friday, 5:30 AM–2:30 PMWe are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee and work alongside employees in the paint, assembly, and wood/skid-crate building areas. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for keeping production moving safely and efficiently while ensuring quality standards and daily production goals are met. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background, previous leadership experience, and the ability to organize people and priorities in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires someone who can assign work, train employees, monitor performance, solve production problems, and step in to assist the team when needed.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and work alongside employees in paint, assembly, and wood/skid-crate building areasAssign and prioritize daily work based on production requirementsCommunicate daily assignments, expectations, and production goals to team membersMonitor production progress and ensure deadlines and output goals are metTrain employees on work instructions, production procedures, quality requirements, and safe work practicesReview and distribute assembly prints and work instructionsEnsure parts, subassemblies, and finished assemblies meet quality requirementsFollow and enforce established quality and inspection proceduresCoordinate materials and inventory needed for upcoming production and assembly workIdentify low inventory levels and communicate material needs before they cause production delaysMonitor employee performance and provide direction, training, and coaching as neededHold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and work performanceEnsure production times and quantities are recorded accurately in the appropriate systemsAssist with developing and improving work instructions and production proceduresMaintain clean, safe, and organized production areasIdentify opportunities to reduce costs, improve production processes, and increase efficiencyLead by example through professionalism, accountability, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethicWork with other departments and leadership to resolve production issuesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of production or manufacturing experience requiredPrevious leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferredHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read and understand production goals and convert them into daily assignmentsAbility to read and understand assembly prints and work instructionsStrong understanding of manufacturing and production processesAbility to organize and prioritize work for multiple employees and production areasAbility to train employees and hold team members accountable for performanceStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentBasic computer skillsExperience entering production times and quantities into an ERP/MRP system preferredStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityDependable attendance and punctualityPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsFrequent use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and performing production workAbility to bend, lift, and perform hands-on manufacturing tasksAbility to regularly lift or move up to 10 lbs.Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.Good close vision and ability to adjust focusAbility to work safely in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levelsWhat We're Looking For We are looking for a hands-on production leader who understands that supervising a manufacturing team means being present on the floor and helping the team succeed. The right candidate will be organized, dependable, comfortable holding employees accountable, and capable of balancing safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. This position is best suited for someone who can lead by example, solve problems quickly, keep employees focused on daily priorities, and step in to support production when needed.
