Role Description The Team Lead ECE Program is a full-time, on-site role based in Henrico County, VA, responsible for overseeing classroom operations and supporting early childhood educators. This role includes planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, coordinating daily schedules, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children. The Team Lead will mentor and guide teaching staff, model best practices in classroom management, and support continuous improvement in teaching methods and child engagement. Duties also include communicating regularly with families, maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with licensing regulations, and collaborating with leadership on program goals and quality standards.
Qualifications
Strong early childhood education knowledge, including child development principles and age-appropriate curriculum design.
Experience leading or supervising classroom teams, with skills in coaching, mentorship, and collaborative problem-solving.
Ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments, with effective classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.
Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and adherence to licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Flexibility and reliability in managing schedules, responding to changing classroom needs, and supporting center-wide activities.
Prior experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting; leadership experience is highly beneficial.
Relevant education in Early Childhood Education or a related field (certificate, associate’s degree, or higher preferred), along with any required state certifications or clearances.
