Job description

Two Opportunities!

We have two Team Lead openings — one in Property Claims and one in General Liability. The shared responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations are outlined below. Role-specific details for each position are at the bottom of this posting. When you apply, please indicate which role you are interested in.

Opening 1 – Ryze

Property Claims Team Lead

Opening 2 - Certus

General Liability Claims Team Lead

About the Role

Both Team Lead openings are working lead roles — you carry an active claim portfolio while providing day-to-day guidance, oversight, and mentorship to the team around you. You are the first point of escalation for complex coverage and claim handling questions, and a direct extension of Claims Manager and Director-level leadership.

The right person for either role is a seasoned adjuster who is ready to take on real leadership responsibility without stepping away from the work. If you have been the person your teammates come to when things get complicated, this is your next step.

What You'll Do

Claim Handling

Manage an active portfolio of claims from report to resolution, consistent with client guidelines and company direction.

Examine policies and records to determine coverage and document positions clearly.

Conduct thorough investigations per claim handling guidelines and best practices.

Estimate costs, prepare reports of findings, and negotiate settlements.

Respond to all communications — emails, voicemails, client forms — within required timeframes.

Assist with escalations and reassignments across the team as directed.

Team Leadership and Coaching

Serve as the first point of escalation for team members on complex coverage, liability, and negotiation questions.

Review team work product for quality, accuracy, and consistency with client and company standards.

Provide day-to-day mentorship and coaching to adjusters on your team.

Identify skill gaps and partner with management and training to address them.

Support onboarding of new team members through file reviews and real-time guidance.

Monitor workloads and flag capacity or quality concerns to management proactively.

Model the standards of professionalism, production, and client service expected across the team.

Reporting and Communication

Provide ongoing feedback to management on team performance, file status, and emerging issues.

Assist management with client reporting and communication as needed.

Contribute to continuous improvement at the process and procedure level.

What We're Looking For

Required for both roles:

Active adjuster license in applicable states.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including policy interpretation.

Sound decision-making and ability to work independently.

Analytical and proactive approach to claim handling.

Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading other adjusters.

Preferred for both roles:

Prior formal lead, senior, or supervisory experience in a claims environment.

Previous TPA experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with multi-carrier environments and varying client guidelines.

Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

What Success Looks Like

Your own portfolio closes on time and meets quality standards consistently.

Team members have a reliable resource for hard questions and leave those conversations with a clear path forward.

Escalations to management are well-framed, documented, and come with a recommendation.

Adjusters on your team improve measurably under your guidance.

Client and carrier feedback reflects the professionalism and responsiveness RYZE is known for.
