Job Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of medical billing specialists to achieve departmental goals and maintain high-quality standards.
Oversee the accurate entry of alpha-numeric and numeric patient data into billing systems, ensuring completeness and correctness.
Manage the submission and follow-up of insurance claims, addressing denials and discrepancies to maximize reimbursement.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify billing information and resolve any issues.
Monitor billing workflows and performance metrics, generating reports and recommending process improvements.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and internal procedures related to medical billing.
Provide training and ongoing support to team members on billing software, data entry standards, and certification requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.
Strong proficiency in alpha-numeric and numeric data entry with high accuracy.
Certification in Phlebotomy or Phlebotomist Certification to understand clinical data relevant to billing.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a healthcare setting within Colorado or knowledge of state-specific billing regulations.
Advanced training or certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS).
Background in healthcare compliance and regulatory standards such as HIPAA.
Strong analytical skills with experience in billing data analysis and reporting tools.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
