Job description
The Team Leader supports staff development, maintains quality assurance practices, resolves workflow issues, and collaborates with Operating Room personnel, Infection Prevention, and other clinical departments to ensure instruments and supplies are safe, properly processed, and available when needed for patient care.
Coordinate daily department activities and assign staff to decontamination, preparation and packaging, sterilization, and case cart assembly.
Monitor staffing levels, attendance, productivity, and workload throughout the shift.
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to sterile processing technicians.
Assist with orientation, training, competency assessments, and ongoing staff education.
Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and effective communication.
Escalate staffing, performance, and operational concerns to department management.
Serve as a resource for staff regarding department procedures and processing standards.
