We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Team Leader Manufacturing Engineering within our Manufacturing Engineeringteam to help support our Automotivebusiness. As a Team Leader Manufacturing Engineering you will have p rovide technical leadership and coordination for activities of Manufacturing Engineering Technician, or Machine Assemblers supporting production equipment, automation, process improvement, and manufacturing systems. Serves as the lead technical resource for troubleshooting, machine modifications, equipment installations, and continuous improvement efforts while coordinating technician priorities and ensuring work is completed safely, effectively, and on schedule. This role is contingent to plant size.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily activities of Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and/or Machine assemblers to support production priorities and engineering objectives.
Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for manufacturing equipment, automation systems, controls, robotics, and machine vision applications.
Coordinate equipment installation, startup, validation, modification, and continuous improvement projects.
Assign, monitor, and prioritize technician workload to ensure safe, effective, and timely execution of work.
Develop technician capability through coaching, mentoring, technical training, and knowledge sharing.
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment, process, and reliability issues.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards and requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance, reliability, productivity, and process capability
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent vocational training in Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum 5 years of technical manufacturing experience.
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
Experience coordinating technical work activities and supporting technician development
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation, and production processes.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Experience supporting PLC-controlled and automated manufacturing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Strong root-cause problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize technical work activities.
Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing support systems
