Job description
$795.60/week -nn Job Summary:n
n Provides direct patient care within the long-term acute care environment, supporting patient needs through vital sign monitoring, sterile specimen collection, and essential clinical procedures. Floats across units as needed, ensuring continuous coverage and quality care.n
nn Responsibilities:n
n n Perform patient assessments by obtaining vital signs, including 12-lead EKG/ECG, and recognizing abnormal findings.n
n Assist with activities of daily living, such as ambulation, feeding, repositioning, linen changes, mouth care, and incontinence care.n
n Collect and label urine/stool specimens, perform sterile specimen collection, and facilitate phlebotomy procedures.n
n Support safe patient transfers, transport, and infection control protocols.n
n Operate telemetry equipment proficiently and document patient data accurately in Cerner charting system.n
n Respond promptly to clinical needs in a flexible, team-oriented manner within scope of practice.n
nn Qualifications:n
n n Minimum of 2 years of Patient Care Technician experience in acute care settings.n
n Valid Maryland or Compact license required.n
n Current BLS, PCT certification, and Basic EKG exam certification needed; CPCT/A preferred.n
n Experience with telemetry monitoring, sterile specimen collection, and routine catheter care required.n
n Demonstrated ability to recognize and escalate abnormal vital signs and clinical changes.n
n Comfortable working in a fast-paced, float capacity across units with strict attendance policies.n
