Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and processing of medical instruments and supplies according to hospital standards. They support surgical and procedural teams by delivering sterile instruments promptly and maintaining high infection control standards.
Responsibilities:
Operate sterilization equipment and prepare surgical instruments for immediate use.
Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols in handling contaminated tools.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely instrument availability for procedures.
Participate in inventory management and ensure proper storage of sterile supplies.
Complete required training modules during orientation and stay compliant with certification updates.
Qualifications:
Valid CA State RN license and uploaded Nursys verification within the last 2 weeks.
Certification in BLS and IAHSCSMM/HSPA with current expiration dates.
At least 2 years of sterile processing or related healthcare experience.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with call coverage on weekends as needed.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and safety standards.
