7+ years of experience in a Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar technical delivery role within enterprise software implementations.nHands-on experience implementing or supporting Field Service Management (FSM) or workforce management platforms (e.g., Salesforce Field Service, ServiceMax, IFS Field Service Management, Oracle Field Service Cloud, ClickSoftware).nExperience within the utilities industry (electric, gas, water) is strongly preferred, particularly with field operations, mobile workforce, or asset management systems.nProven experience working on full implementation lifecycles: requirements gathering, design, configuration/build, testing, deployment, and hypercare.nExperience working in a consulting or systems integrator environment supporting client-facing delivery engagements.nStrong technical analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.nSolid understanding of system integration concepts (APIs, middleware, data mapping/ETL) relevant to utilities technology ecosystems.nWorking knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.nFamiliarity with Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall).nExperience with requirements management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar).nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business stakeholders.nDetail-oriented with strong documentation discipline and testing rigor.nAbility to travel to client site (domestic and(or) international) as required and defined per project requirements.nCertifications:nRelevant FSM platform certifications (e.g., Salesforce Field Service Consultant/Administrator, ServiceMax certification).nCertified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar business/technical analysis certification.nCertified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile certification.nITIL Foundation certification (a plus, given field service and incident/change management overlap).
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Analyst to support the delivery of a complex Field Service Management (FSM) platform implementation for a utilities client. This role bridges business requirements and technical execution — translating functional needs into technical specifications, supporting solution configuration, and ensuring the platform is implemented correctly, tested thoroughly, and delivered successfully. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and technical skills, hands-on FSM platform experience, implementation project experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across a cross-functional delivery team including the Technical Project Manager, Solution Architect, Product Developers, and Product Solution Architects.nKey Responsibilities:nRequirements & Technical Analysis:nAnalyze and document detailed technical and functional requirements for the FSM platform implementation, working closely with business stakeholders and the Solution Architect.nTranslate business requirements into technical specifications, configuration workbooks, user stories, and functional design documents.nConduct gap analysis between out-of-the-box FSM platform capabilities and client-specific business requirements.nSupport development of solution design documents, data mapping specifications, and integration requirements.nSolution Configuration & Implementation Support:nSupport configuration of the FSM platform (e.g., scheduling rules, work order types, service territories, mobile workflows, dispatch logic) based on approved designs.nPartner with Product Developers and Product Solution Architects to validate that technical builds align with documented requirements and architecture standards.nAssist in designing and validating system integrations with adjacent platforms (GIS, OMS, ERP, CRM, IoT/telemetry).nSupport data migration activities including data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.nTesting & Quality Assurance:nDevelop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate FSM platform functionality against business requirements.nLead or support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing cycles.nLog, track, and manage defects through resolution, working with Product Developers to prioritize and validate fixes.nEnsure traceability between requirements, configuration/build, and test coverage.nCross-Functional CollaborationnWork closely with the Technical Project Manager to provide status updates, flag risks/issues, and support project planning and reporting.nCollaborate with the Solution Architect and Product Solution Architects to ensure technical solutions align with overall architecture and scalability requirements.nPartner with Product Developers to clarify requirements, review technical builds, and troubleshoot implementation issues.nSupport business analysts and end users during design workshops, walkthroughs, and training sessions as needed.nDocumentation & Knowledge TransfernMaintain up-to-date technical documentation, configuration guides, and runbooks throughout the project lifecycle.nSupport development of training materials and knowledge transfer documentation for client teams.nContribute to lessons-learned sessions and continuous improvement of implementation methodology and reusable assets.nDeployment & Hypercare SupportnSupport cutover planning, deployment activities, and go-live readiness assessments.nProvide hypercare support post go-live, triaging and resolving technical issues in collaboration with the delivery team.nEducational Qualifications:nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.nAdvanced degree (MBA or Master’s) is preferred.
