The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading enterprise software company to hire Technical Consultants who want to build complex software solutions while working directly with customers to solve meaningful business problems.
This is not a traditional software engineering role where you spend your entire day coding in isolation , and it is not a purely functional consulting position.
You’ll sit directly between technology and the customer , owning work across the full project lifecycle: understanding the business problem, translating requirements into a technical solution, developing and integrating the application, working with data, and ultimately helping customers successfully adopt what you’ve built.
For someone early in their technical career who wants exposure to software development + consulting + enterprise technology , this is an opportunity to build all three.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work directly with customers and technical teams to:
Design & Build Solutions: Develop and deploy custom enterprise automation applications throughout the full project lifecycle.
Solve Customer Problems: Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand complex processes and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
Build Integrations: Connect enterprise systems through REST, SOAP, JDBC and other APIs/integration technologies.
Work With Data: Design relational data models and write SQL queries, joins and views.
Deliver in Agile Teams: Work within sprints, stand-ups, pair programming and other Agile development practices.
Own the Outcome: Participate from initial requirements gathering through implementation, deployment and customer adoption.
Enable Customers: Partner directly with customer teams, transfer knowledge and help users become increasingly self-sufficient.
What You Must Bring
We want to be very clear about the foundation required for this position.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or a closely related technical field
2+ years of hands-on software development or technical implementation consulting experience
Demonstrated experience with Object-Oriented Programming
Working knowledge of relational database design and SQL , including queries, joins and views
Experience gathering requirements or working with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong communication skills and an interest in working directly with customers
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Ability to work on-site 4–5 days per week in McLean, Virginia

Compensation
Base Salary: $75,000–$175,000
Actual compensation will depend on experience, technical depth and qualifications. The position is also eligible for a discretionary performance bonus and a government clearance differential . Additional benefits are included as part of the total rewards package.
Location & Travel
McLean, Virginia
This position requires working on-site 4–5 days per week and traveling up to 20% to support customer engagements.
