Hiring: Tech Lead | San Francisco | Hybrid
Compensation: Up to $260K base + equity
Equity: 0.5-1.0%

The company recently raised a $4.7M seed round backed by Nexus Venture Partners and Y Combinator and currently has a lean team of ~12 people.
As Tech Lead , you'll have significant ownership from day one - leading a team of engineers, driving architecture and technical decisions, and working directly with the CTO/CEO.
What you'll be doing
Lead and mentor a team of 4+ engineers
Own architectural and technical decisions for highly scalable, latency-critical systems
Drive engineering best practices, processes, and team execution
Prioritize technical work around business objectives
Stay hands-on and contribute ~20-30% of your time to the codebase
Help scale the engineering organization as the company grows
Build systems capable of handling millions of voice calls per month while maintaining sub-second latency
What we're looking for
Recent Staff Engineer / Technical Lead / Team Lead experience with strong technical ownership
Deep expertise in backend, cloud engineering, and distributed systems
Experience building products at meaningful scale with demanding reliability, performance, or real-time requirements
Proven ability to make architectural decisions and influence how engineering teams operate
Passion for mentoring and leading engineers while remaining hands-on
Nice to have: Conversational AI / Voice AI experience and frontend development experience.

You'll be working on voice and SMS AI agents that generate significant revenue for home improvement businesses - with a vision to build an operating system for the industry.
The technical challenges include latency-critical distributed systems, massive call volume, self-improving AI agents, real-time experimentation, and scaling the platform rapidly.
