Job description

Technical Project Manager (Software Delivery)

Elysia Battery Intelligence, formerly Zitara

San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States

Elysia Battery Intelligence is building the intelligence layer for grid-scale battery energy storage.

Backed by Fortescue, Elysia combines deep battery R&D with real-time software and cloud-based analytics, turning complex battery data into actionable intelligence for BESS operators.

As the US engineering and product teams scale, Elysia is hiring its first Technical Project Manager in the US.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of delivery while helping define how project management operates as Elysia grows.

Role Purpose:

Own delivery across Elysia's US BESS engineering portfolio, balancing product development, customer commitments, defects, technical debt and engineering capacity across interconnected hardware and software projects.

You will initially bring structure and control to live US projects. From around six months, the focus expands into improving the wider PM function through better processes, automation, data and AI.

Role: Technical Project Manager

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California

Work Model: Hybrid

Compensation: $140,000 - $152,000 base salary, plus a 15% annual bonus, with the opportunity for the bonus to increase to 20%.

What You'll Do:

Own the US BESS engineering delivery roadmap across hardware and software.

Manage dependencies, capacity, risks, customer commitments and technical priorities across projects.

Set up and run projects using Jira, Confluence, Structure.Gantt and RAID processes.

Align project plans with the wider company portfolio and identify delivery risks early.

Build customer and portfolio reporting using Jira, Confluence, Power BI and automation.

Embed Elysia's delivery standards across the US team.

Work closely with engineering, product and technical leads to resolve delivery issues.

Improve the PM function through automation, AI and better-connected tooling.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in technical project or programme management within an engineering or technology environment.

Experience working across hardware and software development.

Strong project planning, governance, risk and dependency management skills.

Experience managing complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.

Experience with Jira and Confluence. Wider Atlassian experience is preferred.

Comfortable working closely with engineers, technical leads and product teams.

Experience improving project processes, tooling or ways of working.

A practical interest in automation, data and AI.

This is not a role where you inherit a process and maintain it.

You will help build the framework, improve how delivery works and take ownership of projects supporting the next generation of grid-scale energy storage.

Why Elysia?

Become the first Technical Project Manager in the US and help build the delivery function.

Work across battery technology, software, data and grid-scale energy infrastructure.

Join a growing technology business backed by Fortescue.

Have direct ownership across live US BESS projects.

Help shape how project management works as the company scales.

Progress towards broader Programme Management and portfolio responsibility.

Equal Opportunity:

Elysia Battery Intelligence is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees and do not discriminate based on any legally protected characteristic.
