Job description
We're looking for a Project Manager to own delivery of power conversion programs from concept to certified, field-ready product. The systems are power conversion systems (PCS), bidirectional inverters and DC-DC converters for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS).
What you'll do:
Lead power electronics projects through a full stage-gate process: requirements, design, prototype, DVT, certification, PVT and launch
Own schedule, budget (NRE, prototype builds, test equipment, certification fees), scope and risk across hardware, firmware and test
Turn customer, grid-code and site requirements into a controlled baseline with traceability to test
Coordinate interfaces with BESS container, battery/BMS, EMS/SCADA and plant controller teams
Plan and track certification with NRTLs and test labs (UL, TÜV, Intertek, CSA), including grid-compliance and interconnection testing
Manage suppliers and contract manufacturers for IGBT/SiC power modules, magnetics, cooling and enclosures, and drive design-for-manufacture and production readiness
Lead DFMEA follow-up and root-cause investigations for test and field failures
What you bring:
BSEE or a closely related field
5+ years in hardware product development, including 3+ years managing power electronics projects (inverters, PCS, converters, drives or chargers)
At least one power electronics product taken from development through certification and production launch
Working knowledge of converter topologies, semiconductor devices, thermal management and controls, enough to judge technical trade-offs and schedule risk
Experience managing budgets above $2M and cross-functional teams of 10+ engineers
Proficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet or Primavera, and Jira or equivalent
