Technical Roofing Specialist (Guarantee & Systems)Johns Manville – Roofing Systems DivisionAbout the RoleJohns Manville is seeking a Technical Roofing Specialist to ensure our customers receive exceptional support across all technical and guarantee-related matters. This role plays a critical part in evaluating complex roofing systems, advising on best-fit solutions, and ensuring compliance with JM specifications and standards.If you thrive in a technical environment, enjoy solving complex construction challenges, and take pride in delivering outstanding customer service—this role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on project success.What You'll DoCustomer Support & Technical ExpertiseServe as a trusted expert by responding to technical and guarantee inquiries accurately and promptlyPartner with customers to evaluate roofing conditions and identify practical, effective solutionsSystem Evaluation & RecommendationsAssess unique roofing situations and recommend best practices, including deviations from standard specifications where appropriateReview construction documents with a focus on roofing systems and complianceGuarantee Review & EligibilityEvaluate guarantee applications and determine eligibility based on JM standardsEnsure roofing systems meet applicable requirements before approvalEngineering & AnalysisPerform wind uplift design calculations (ASCE 7) to support system validationApply technical expertise across Single Ply and Bituminous roofing systems and componentsWhat You BringEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical degree5+ years of experience in a technical roofing or construction role5+ years of experience working in a customer-facing environmentRegistered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) preferredTechnical KnowledgeStrong understanding of low-slope roofing systems, materials, and industry practicesKnowledge of commercial construction processes and stakeholder rolesFamiliarity with legal and compliance considerations in construction and roofingSkills & CapabilitiesExcellent communication skills—both written and verbalStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing prioritiesProven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiencesStrong negotiation and presentation skillsPlease Keep in MindIf you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you.
