Job description
Technical Sales EngineerDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts, including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and management teams. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop technical solutions that meet customer requirements. Support new product introductions, product improvements, and application development. Coordinate internal resources to ensure customer expectations, project milestones, and delivery objectives are achieved. Communicate with customers regarding quotations, pricing, contracts, product updates, and future opportunities. Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales growth and profitability objectives. Prepare and submit accurate quotations (RFQs), product costing requests, and related sales documentation. Assist with preliminary product concepts, design reviews, and prototype evaluations. Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, sales activity reports, and project updates. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities. Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and industry events. Support continuous improvement initiatives, quality standards, and workplace safety programs. Contribute to cross-functional team meetings and process improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.3–5 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or business development within manufacturing, commercial vehicles, industrial equipment, automation, or motion control industries. Experience working directly with OEM customers is preferred.Desired SkillsStrong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineered products and customer applications. Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills. Ability to identify customer needs and develop value-driven solutions. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Effective project coordination and organizational abilities. Experience preparing quotations, technical proposals, and customer presentations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems. Self-motivated with excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments. Adaptable in a fast-paced, changing business environment.Work EnvironmentOffice-based position in a climate-controlled environment. Approximately 70% of the workday is spent seated with regular computer use. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Some bending and stooping may be required. Travel by automobile and air approximately 20–30% for customer visits, meetings, and industry events.
