As a Technical Writer, youll support a growing team by preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents such as reports, summaries, system characterization documents, briefings, and procedures. Additionally, you will help the team establish an internal documentation repository and information management strategy.
Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical and policy/ procedural documentation.
• Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
• Responsible for writing/editing technical copy for various types of documents.
• Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
• Coordinate layout and design of documents and briefings.
• Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information.
Must have an active Secret Clearance to start
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field with 5 years of experience
• Advanced Microsoft Word skills (formatting, creating templates, cross referencing)
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills (design, animations, data visualization)
• Attention to detail and proofreading
• Experience supporting systems engineering, system integration, or technical test activities for complex hardware/software systems
• Bachelor’s degree with a technical writing concentration
• Experience supporting UAS/UXS, robotics, embedded systems, communications, sensor systems, or other integrated technical platforms
• Familiarity with governmental practices, policies, and procedures
• Familiarity with SharePoint, MS Teams, or other collaborative platforms
• Research and fact checking
• Content organization and document design
