Technician, Solar ManufacturingCarlsbad, California | Engineering | Full-timeAptera Motors is dedicated to building a future where every journey is powered by the sun. We specialize in creating solar electric vehicles that revolutionize the way we travel, providing sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.About the roleSeeking a CAD Engineer to develop and design engineering documentation, including drawings, 3D models, and CAD modules/assemblies. This position requires experience in 3D Experience (CATIA V6) to create 3D designs and 2D drawings of automotive electrical components from initial concept through mass production.What you'll doManufacture prototype and production flat and curved Solar Panels; this involves lots of soldering, cutting, and cleaning.Work in an ISO 8 Cleanroom Environment.Run automated soldering and Solar Panel lamination equipment.Manufacture wiring harnesses and connector assemblies.Work with Engineers and R&D to develop new processes and streamline manufacturing.QualificationsProficiency soldering. Proficiency with handheld tools. Proficiency with automated/manufacturing equipment.Experience in manufacturing environments.Extremely organized and clean when working.Ability to work with delicate objects.Willing to be diligent and precise with handheld work is important.Willing to learn new techniques and technologies surrounding Solar testing and equipment.Willing to be flexible in processes and day to day work.Knowledge of / experience with Solar technologies and techniques is a plus.Knowledge of / experience with composites and composite processes is a plus.Knowledge of / experience with Electronics Manufacturing is a plus.Team StructureCollaborate with onsite and remote engineers and technicians to achieve team and individual goals, furthering our collective mission.Required Experience2+ years of relevant experience.Educational RequirementsTechnical certification and/or B.S. in mechanical engineering.Salary + BenefitsMarket competitive compensation packageStock option grantsFully funded benefits package for employee + dependentsGenerous Flexible Time Away policy
