About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Telecoms Network Architect for a fully remote position, responsible for designing the future of their telecommunications infrastructure. This strategic role involves developing high-level network designs, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring the scalability, security, and resilience of the company's network landscape. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and business units to translate requirements into robust and innovative network solutions, guiding the technical direction for projects impacting operations across regions, including those based around Paarl .
Key Responsibilities
Design and document scalable, secure, and highly available telecommunications network architectures.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption to enhance network capabilities.
Develop strategic roadmaps for network evolution and capacity planning.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are implementable and meet operational requirements.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex network design challenges.
Define network standards, best practices, and security policies.
Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
Deep understanding of various network technologies, including routing, switching, MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud networking.
Proven experience in designing large-scale, resilient networks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence stakeholders.
