Work Environment
This role offers the unique advantage of a fully remote work setting, utilizing telehealth technologies to deliver high-quality mental health counseling. You will be equipped with advanced tools and software that facilitate virtual sessions, allowing you to connect with clients in the comfort of their own environments. Our flexible work schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, enables you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
Offer immediate support and counseling to clients in distress, ensuring they feel heard and validated.
Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of clients during crises.
Implement de-escalation techniques and effective crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging situations.
Provide continuous support through follow-up care and recommendations, guiding clients toward appropriate resources and options.
Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance your skills in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on individuals who are experiencing substance misuse and related emotional turmoil. You will work with a diverse client population, including those in acute distress due to trauma, experiencing suicidal ideation, or facing severe emotional crises. A culturally sensitive and empathetic approach is essential for building effective therapeutic relationships and supporting clients through their recovery journey.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
At least 3 years of recent experience in providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
Proficiency in conducting rapid assessments and creating personalized crisis intervention plans.
In-depth understanding of legal and ethical standards in crisis counseling.
Strong communication skills to establish rapport with clients in distress.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated expertise in addiction therapy and trauma-informed care.
Experience using evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
Previous work in telehealth settings or familiarity with teletherapy tools.
Compensation and Benefits
