Work Environment
This position is remote, allowing counselors the flexibility to work from anywhere. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments to accurately identify each client's mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client goals, utilizing methodologies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, managing expectations about the counseling process while empowering them to take charge of their mental health.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and other mental health professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to care and holistic treatment of clients.
Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, training, and participation in supervision or peer review meetings to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work with a diverse clientele dealing with various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our telehealth model provides an opportunity to connect with individuals who may face barriers to care due to geographic or physical limitations, ensuring they receive the essential support they need. Essentially, you will be at the forefront of breaking stigma and expanding access to mental health resources.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related discipline.
An active and unrestricted New York State license (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC) to practice as a mental health professional.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in digital tools and telehealth platforms.
Preferred Experience
At least 2 years of experience providing mental health counseling, preferably in a telehealth environment.
Experience in utilizing treatment modalities such as CBT or DBT.
Experience working with a diverse population and an understanding of culturally sensitive practices.
