Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Requirements:

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience
Registered nurses must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms.

Unit Details
Nurse-patient ratios are 1:4 for tele patients and 1:5 for MedSurg patients; a mixed MS and Tele team remains 1:4.
Patient population includes acute/chronic medical conditions, cardiac telemetry patients, stroke patients, COVID patients, forensic patients, and potential postoperative patients; non-titratable drips are used.
Set-rate drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin; nurses do not titrate drips.
The unit uses GE monitors.
CPAP or BiPAP may be used per RT and MD order; there are no ventilators.
The unit is fast-paced, with many admissions and high acuity.
Shift & Scheduling
4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; weekends are Friday/Saturday for night shifts and Saturday/Sunday for day shifts.
Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor minimum.
No call; may be placed on standby for low census. If placed on standby and called in, response time is 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements
Travelers are first to float. They can be floated to Mercy Downtown (approximately 6.5 miles away), any MS/MST unit, ICU for MST patients, or the ER for MST holds.
Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
