Teller – Job DescriptionThe Teller is responsible for providing exceptional member service while accurately processing financial transactions. This role serves as a primary point of contact for members, handling routine banking needs, promoting financial products and services, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet members promptly and courteously, creating a positive and professional experienceProcess a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashingBalance cash drawers and maintain accurate transaction recordsIdentify and respond to member needs by recommending appropriate products and servicesEducate members on account features, digital banking tools, and available financial solutionsMaintain confidentiality and security of member informationDetect and prevent fraudulent transactions by following established proceduresEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policiesResolve member inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional mannerAssist with opening, maintaining, and closing accounts as neededSupport branch operations, including administrative tasks and team initiativesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious cash handling and/or customer service experience preferredBasic math skills and attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with computers and standard office softwareProfessional appearance and demeanorKey CompetenciesCustomer service excellenceAccuracy and attention to detailIntegrity and trustworthinessProblem-solving skillsTeam collaborationAdaptability and flexibilityWorking ConditionsPrimarily office or branch environmentFrequent standing, sitting, and use of computersMay require lifting of light office materialsRegular interaction with members and staffPhysical RequirementsAbility to operate standard office equipmentManual dexterity for handling cash and documentsClear verbal and written communication abilitiesAdditional NotesPosition may require occasional overtime or weekend shiftsOngoing training may be required to stay current with products, services, and regulations
