TEMP Director of Logistics
Los Angeles, CA | Remote or Hybrid if within 20 miles of El Segundo, CA(3 Days Onsite)
Our retail ecommerce client is URGENTLY seeking an experienced Director of Logistics to provide interim leadership and operational support during a maternity leave coverage assignment.
This is a temporary assignment for up to 4months.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a logistics professional who can quickly step into a high-impact role, oversee end-to-end transportation and fulfillment operations, and ensure business continuity in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires a strategic yet execution-focused leader who can manage complex logistics operations, drive cross-functional collaboration, and proactively resolve transportation and supply chain challenges while maintaining service levels and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Ocean experience is a must- global preferred
Lead domestic and international logistics operations, overseeing the movement of goods from suppliers and manufacturing partners through fulfillment and distribution networks.
Manage transportation performance, shipment schedules, delivery timelines, and carrier relationships to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective operations.
Partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Fulfillment, and senior leadership teams to align logistics priorities with business objectives.
Identify operational risks, troubleshoot complex logistics issues, and implement practical solutions that minimize disruptions and maintain continuity of service.
Monitor logistics KPIs and operational performance metrics, driving process improvements that enhance efficiency, visibility, service levels, and cost optimization.
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, distribution, or related operations.
Prior leadership experience at the Director, Senior Manager, or equivalent level.
Strong knowledge of transportation management, fulfillment operations, inventory flow, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
Experience in consumer products, retail, manufacturing, apparel, CPG, or other product-driven environments is highly preferred.
Hybrid in office is preferred, but will consider remote for the perfect candidate. PST hours are a must
Pay: $70-80/hr
