Assisting with marketing, webpage management, event listing, scheduling, and other administrative needs for the department.

Developing and teaching classes that align with TNCA's Mission and are beneficial to our students. This includes time researching, creating materials, and proposing the class to the Adult Education Coordinator.

If you're passionate about lifelong learning and enjoy creating enriching experiences for adult audiences, we'd love to hear from you.

One way to engage the visitors to The North Carolina Arboretum is to provide a deeper knowledge about the natural world and the arts. This knowledge is delivered through adult education classes, youth education programs, special educational event offerings, interpretative panels in the gardens and rotating hosted exhibits. It is the responsibility of the Education Department to provide this educational content.

The qualified candidate will have a college degree in education, environmental studies, outdoor education, biology, ecology, or a related field and demonstrate success in providing outstanding customer service. Qualified applicants should have experience working directly with adult learners in an instructional and/or facilitation capacity and have experience utilizing registration systems and responding to student inquiries. Applicants should display a high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality. Work requires attending to the needs of programming outdoors in various weather conditions, oftentimes carrying a pack with program equipment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk or hear, sit, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
