Temporary Executive AssistantDC - Washington, DC 20010OverviewSalary Range $30.00 - $30.00 Hourly Level Experienced Education Level College degree preferredDescriptionClient: DC Office of the People's Counsel (OPC) Assignment: Temporary, approximately 3–4 months Anticipated Start Date: Week of October 13, 2026Position SummaryThe DC Office of the People's Counsel (OPC) is seeking an experienced and highly organized Executive Assistant to provide temporary administrative and operational support to the OPC Directorate, including the Deputy People's Counsel, Chief of Staff, and Chief Operating Officer.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills and the ability to effectively support multiple senior-level executives in a fast-paced professional environment. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive communications, information, and executive matters.Key ResponsibilitiesCalendar and Schedule ManagementManage executive calendars, appointments, and scheduling for members of the OPC Directorate.Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings and conferences.Coordinate meeting logistics, including locations, conference rooms, and virtual meeting links.Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts while appropriately prioritizing executive time.Communication ManagementScreen, organize, and prioritize emails, phone calls, correspondence, and other communications.Handle confidential and sensitive information and communications with professionalism and discretion.Assist with ensuring timely communication and follow-up on matters requiring executive attention.Meeting SupportPrepare and organize meeting agendas and related materials.Attend meetings as requested and prepare accurate meeting minutes.Coordinate leadership meetings and associated logistics.Track meeting-related action items and follow-up needs, as appropriate.Administrative OperationsOrganize and maintain electronic and physical files and records.Assist with maintaining organized and accessible executive and administrative documentation.Provide general administrative support to the OPC Directorate as needed.Project Management SupportAssist Directorate members with special projects and assignments.Help coordinate project-related activities, deadlines, materials, and follow-up.Provide administrative support to help ensure assigned projects and priorities remain organized and on schedule.QualificationsQualifications and ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative or executive support experience, with demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, agency leadership, or comparable management-level professionals.Experience supporting multiple executives simultaneously and effectively managing competing priorities, schedules, deadlines, and confidential matters.Demonstrated experience managing complex executive calendars, coordinating meetings and logistics, preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and tracking action items.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize assignments, and independently follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with senior leadership, employees, external stakeholders, and members of the public.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive personnel, operational, legal, or executive-level information.Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely, and professional work products.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, as well as virtual meeting platforms and electronic document-management systems.Prior experience in a government agency, legal, regulatory, public-sector, or similarly complex professional environment is preferred.EducationBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Management, or a related field is preferred.An equivalent combination of education, training, and substantial executive-level administrative experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
