Temporary Parks and Grounds Maintenance WorkerThe City and Borough of Sitka is hiring temporary workers to assist full-time staff with seasonal parks and grounds maintenance. These positions perform a variety of duties focused on the maintenance and beautification of City parks, athletic fields, lawns, gardens, and trails.The City and Borough of Sitka is hiring temporary workers to assist full-time staff with seasonal parks and grounds maintenance. These positions perform a variety of duties focused on the maintenance and beautification of City parks, athletic fields, lawns, gardens, and trails.Preferred experience includes operation and maintenance of landscaping equipment and tools; riding & push lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, push spreaders, chain saws, pole saws, and pruners. Other equipment and skills include tractor operation, trailering, power-washing, painting, tree care, and weed control. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; HS diploma or GED; and possess a valid driver's license.Applicants must have the ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor outside in potentially adverse weather conditions.Please reach out to the City and Borough of Sitka Human Resources Office if you have any questions or concerns.
