Temporary Position in Colorado Parks and WildlifeThis is a temporary position (9 months or less) paying $16.00 per hour. Employment starts 05/01/2024 through 11/30/2024 (exact dates are negotiable). Primary duties will include but are not limited to: noxious weed control; facility and equipment maintenance; fence repair and construction; mandatory big game animal checks; operating and maintaining vehicles, trailers, weed spraying equipment, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's), power tools, and chainsaws; handling animal carcasses; data recording and record keeping; as well as interacting with and answering questions from hunters and anglers. This position will also assist District Wildlife Managers, Biologists, and other Property Technicians with wildlife management related tasks.Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsBasic requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a current & valid driver's license for operating a state vehicle. Work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense. Must have experience working with a variety of hand and power tools. Must have vehicle/equipment/maintenance experience. Must have ability to hike long distances with a pack. Must have ability to accomplish physically demanding tasks. Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather. Must possess a good attitude. Must possess enthusiasm for protecting Colorado's resources.
