Temporary Pre-Tabulation Ballot Processor IAs a Temporary Pre-Tabulation Ballot Processor I, you will assist in facilitating the pre-tabulation ballot processing for Maricopa County Elections. Follow this link to learn more!We RequireExperience utilizing a calculator or similar deviceA high school diploma or GEDOther RequirementsMust successfully complete a background screeningMust be eligible to vote in ArizonaMandatory overtime during all election cyclesWe Also ValueOne or more years of general office experienceOne or more years of moderate computer use experienceOne or more years of election experienceOne or more years of customer service experienceJob ContributionsFollows detailed step-by-step instructions to ensure work is auditable and process compliantVerifies that both the physical count of ballots and affidavits being processed are in balance and correspond to the written entries loggedAccurately identifies and documents any discrepancies between affidavit and ballot codes for each affidavit packet handled, and ensures proper processing of damaged ballots for audit purposesPrepares basic chain-of-custody paperwork for ballots delivered to the Ballot Tabulation CenterMay provide support to other divisions as assigned by supervisory staffWorking ConditionsSome work shift flexibility is needed based on operational needsThe usual work schedule is set as 8 hours, Monday-Friday, but may require: Working holidays/weekendsOccasionally working only 4 hours a dayOccasionally working up to 10 hours a dayMay be asked to take occasional days off when business needs do not require full staffingThis position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, to meet high-volume deadlines, the use of upper extremity repetitive motion, repetitive reading to compare affidavit packet codes with ballot codes, the ability to occasionally lift floor-to-shoulder or lower from shoulder-to-waist up to 25 pounds and carry for 100 feet, and the ability to occasionally push/pull up to 50 pounds for 200 feetMust not engage in any political discussion during the electionAttendance and punctuality are criticalSelection ProcedureConsideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applicationsCandidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profileMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitiveMaricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
