PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PART-TIME/TEMPORARY POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.

Current high school students may be considered.

Ability to read, write, and understand English and follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds.

Knowledge of and ability to work with hand tools, pressure washers, scrubbing machines, manlifts, fork-lifts and pallet-jacks.

Ability to work on fixed and portable ladders; physically capable of bending, stooping, continuous standing and walking.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including heat and rain.

Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-related schedules.

General maintenance, facilities, grounds, event setup, or related experience preferred.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow established safety procedures.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a temporary assignment that is available to work less than 20 hours per week for one school calendar year. The position is not required to pay into the Teacher Retirement System (TRS).

Notice to TRS Retirees

It is ultimately the responsibility of each retiree to be aware of his/her status to prevent any loss of funds.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$15.50 - HS3

Salary based on verifiable job-related experience as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Support the Berry Center operations team in preparing and maintaining the facility for events and daily operations.

Set up, move, arrange, and dismantle stage equipment, basketball courts, meeting room furniture, chairs, tables, carts, concourse areas, dressing rooms, and other event-related equipment.

Perform basic preventive maintenance and assist with facility and equipment repairs as directed.

Assist with event conversions and complete pre- and post-event inspections using established checklists.

Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and organization of facility spaces, equipment, and event areas. Keep all areas clean, organized and functional.

Assist with the preparation, setup, and maintenance of athletic fields and courts for games and events.

Assist with grounds and parking lot maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, and general upkeep.

Identify and correct unsafe conditions when able and promptly report hazards or conditions requiring additional attention to the supervisor.

Work collaboratively with custodial, guest services, audiovisual, athletic, and other support departments to facilitate successful events and facility operations.

Respond to changing event and facility needs and assist with additional operational tasks as directed.

Perform other duties assigned by the Berry Center management team and/or CFISD administrative team.

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Exposure to working inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), moderate exposure to noise, and moderate exposure to extended periods of sitting and/or standing.
