Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning 1 January 2026. Charleston Southern University seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach the following courses: General Psychology, and relevant combinations of: Introduction to Statistics, Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology and/or Forensic Psychology, and others as developed. The course load is 12 hours per major semester of undergraduate courses. Involvement within the department, student advising, campus service and professional development are required. Teaching in the summer is available for additional pay; courses are taught both in person and online.

Start date: January or August 2026.

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred but A.B.D. status or an M.S. from an accredited institution will be considered. The successful applicant will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.
