Position: Tenure-Track Faculty in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering
School: Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Department/Area: Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering
Position Description: The Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering (MSME), in the field of solid mechanics. The expected start date is July 1, 2027.
Basic Qualifications: A doctoral degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field is required by the time the appointment begins.
Additional Qualifications: We seek candidates who have a strong research record and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, training, and advising. The successful candidate will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received. At least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate's undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor.

Salary Range: $140,700-$174,500 for tenure-track rank. Pay offered to the selected candidate is dependent on factors such as experience, training or qualifications, field of scholarship, and accomplishments in the field.
