75K-85K + Commission
TERRITORY SALES MANAGER – UPSTATE NEW YORK
Location: Upstate New York
Ideal Home Base: Syracuse, NY
Territory: Primarily the I-90 corridor between Albany and Buffalo
Work Setting: Field / Territory Sales
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000
Compensation: Monthly commission with total OTE in the low $100Ks
KEY REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
2+ years of experience selling fasteners, C-parts, assembly components, and/or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to OEM or manufacturing customers.
QUICK SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager to develop and grow OEM and manufacturing accounts throughout Upstate New York.
This role is focused on selling fasteners, assembly components, and Vendor Managed Inventory solutions into manufacturing environments. The strongest candidates will have direct experience working with OEM customers and understand how VMI, replenishment, and component supply programs support production operations.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business and growing customer relationships across Upstate New York, with a primary focus on the I-90 corridor between Albany and Buffalo.
Syracuse is the ideal home base because of its central location within the territory, but candidates in other Upstate New York markets may also be considered.
This is a territory-based outside sales role combining new-business development, account management, consultative selling, and long-term customer relationship management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop new business with OEM manufacturers and industrial customers throughout the territory
Sell fasteners, C-parts, assembly components, and Vendor Managed Inventory programs
Identify opportunities to improve customers’ stocking, replenishment, inventory, and component supply processes
Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline
Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle
Conduct on-site customer meetings, presentations, sales calls, and account reviews
Develop relationships with purchasing, supply chain, operations, engineering, and manufacturing stakeholders
Partner with internal teams to support implementation and ongoing management of VMI programs
Manage and grow existing customer relationships
Maintain timely and accurate communication with customers and internal teams
Independently manage the assigned geographic territory while participating in a team-selling environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of relevant industrial sales experience involving fasteners, C-parts, assembly components, and/or VMI programs
Experience selling directly to OEM manufacturers, assembly operations, or similar manufacturing customers
Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory or related inventory replenishment programs
Proven territory-based outside sales and new-business development experience
Ability to sell consultatively and understand customer operational and supply-chain needs
Strong communication, presentation, organization, and follow-up skills
Self-directed and capable of independently managing a geographic territory
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Direct experience selling fastener VMI programs to OEM customers
Background with a fastener or industrial distribution company
Strong knowledge of fasteners, C-class components, or assembly hardware
Experience with bin stocking, line‑side replenishment, Kanban, kitting, supplier consolidation, or related inventory programs
Existing OEM or industrial manufacturing relationships throughout Upstate New York
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate should live within Upstate New York and be able to effectively cover the territory.
Syracuse is the preferred home base, but candidates in Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, or other workable Upstate New York locations may be considered.
Regular customer-site and territory travel is expected.
