Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
Location: Waynesboro, VA. 100% on-site.
The position may be filled as a Software Engineer or a Principal Software Engineer.
This role is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design creative and flexible HW/SW solutions with a motivated team of experts
Real‑time, pre‑ and post‑processing data analytics
UI/UX design
Instrument drivers and utilities
Process automation
Firmware design for simulation and control
SW/HW integration
Requirements verification
Actively support investigation, resolution and documentation of product anomalies
Understanding design to cost
Test Design Software Engineer – Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Experience with SDLC
Experience working in an Agile Environment
Experience with software languages C, C#, C++, Python
Experience with SW integration
Effective verbal and written communication
Principal Test Design Software Engineer – Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Experience with SDLC
Experience working in an Agile Environment
Experience with software languages C, C#, C++, Python
Experience with SW integration
Effective verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline
Experience with hands‑on troubleshooting
Experience with PLC/HMI software (e.g., RS View, RS Logix5000)
Experience with hardware driver development
Experience with FPGA programming
Firmware design experience a plus
Experience with RTOS
Experience with LabWindowsCVI or AMAX (a huge plus)
Technical lead experience
Active Secret clearance

Salary Range
Primary Level: $79,300.00 – $118,900.00
Secondary Level: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00
