A key ingredient to making reusable systems is the ability to test hardware quickly. As a Test Technician working at our Moses Lake Test Site, you will be responsible for building fluid, electronic, and structural test stand systems, preparing the test facility for test operations, troubleshooting test related issues, and supporting general test operations. You will fabricate parts and assemblies from blueprints, drawings, and/or verbal instructions. You will fabricate parts and assemblies using power tools, hand tools, and other typical shop equipment. You will work directly with experienced design and test engineers. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.ResponsibilitiesFabricate and weld standard and custom partsBend, proof, and clean stainless steel tubing systemsSafely operate various power tools, saws, and other heavy-duty equipmentWork closely with engineers for test stand maintenance and operationsSupport troubleshooting effortsSafely work around hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systemsSafely operate forklift, telehandler, and man liftThis position will spend roughly 50% of the time welding and the remaining time doing other test and build related tasksAs part of a small team, you will also perform everyday tasks to keep the site running (shipping and receiving, administrative tasks, etc.)Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent certificate3+ years TIG welding with stainless steel alloys, aluminum2+ years manual machining experienceExperience with pipe welding and orbital tube weldingFamiliar with reading and interpreting schematics and drawingsExperience fabricating custom parts with no drawingsFamiliar with common aerospace fluid connections: 37-degree flare fittings, compression fittings, NPT fittings, ANSI flangesExperience with hole layout and drillingWilling to work outdoors for long periods of timeAble to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs. unassistedPassion for building something with high quality, willing to attend work with a positive and humble attitude, and willing to take ownership of large and small tasks to help the team be successfulRigorous attention to detailUnbeatable drive and ownershipAbility to lead & followPreferred QualificationsExperience with welding InconelExperience working with pressurized systems up to 6,000psiExperience with crane operationsExperience troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of pneumatic and cryogenic systemsBenefitsEquity – We are pleased to offer equity in the form of stock options to all regular, full-time employees.Comprehensive benefits program including subsidized medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life and disability insurance401(k) plan with employer match4 weeks' Paid Time OffHolidays – 10 days (including an end-of-year closure)Paid Family/Parental LeaveOn-site gym or monthly wellness stipend (depending on location)Dog friendly offices!CompensationLevel 2: $32.11 - $48.16/HRLevel 3: $40.13 - $60.17/HROur job posts are intentionally written to attract a wide variety of experience levels, and we make decisions about the right fit on a per-candidate basis.Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.ITAR RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Equal OpportunityThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including with respect to disability and veteran status.
