Job description
Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Therapist, Lanham, Maryland
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans and help patients perform therapeutic activities.
- Provide direct support in developing social and daily living skills.
- Collect and assess patient information.
- Instruct patients and families in treatment techniques.
- Monitor performance and provide encouragement.
- Document patient progress.- Maintain treatment records.
- Perform clerical tasks.
Certifications/Requirements
- Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification from NBCOT required.
- COTA-L (Licensed) in states requiring licensure.
- BLS/CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Associate degree from ACOTE-accredited OTA program required.
- Level I and Level II Fieldwork components (minimum 24 weeks total).
- No prior experience required for entry-level.
