Job description
Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support patient rehabilitation by implementing therapy plans under the supervision of licensed therapists. This role involves delivering skilled therapeutic interventions to enhance patient recovery and functional independence.
Responsibilities:
Assist in evaluating patient needs and documenting progress.
Implement treatment plans designed by licensed therapists.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and techniques.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure cohesive care delivery.
Support the therapeutic environment by preparing treatment areas and equipment.
Qualifications:
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required.
Proven experience in occupational therapy support, preferably in a long-term care setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and patient care procedures.
Ability to work effectively with patients of diverse ages and needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and documentation processes.
