Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides essential support to occupational therapists in delivering patient rehabilitation and recovery services. They work directly with patients to facilitate therapeutic activities and ensure treatment plans are effectively implemented.
Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
Support patients through therapeutic activities that enhance motor skills, coordination, and independence.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any issues or concerns to the supervising therapist.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Texas license or a compact license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Possess at least 2 years of experience working as a COTA.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Have knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and best practices.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
