nBaylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano HIH Unit is preparing to open its doors in Spring 2027 , and we are assembling an elite team of cardiovascular professionals who want more than a job—they want to help define the future of heart care in one of the nation’s fastest‑growing regions.
nAs a new team member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a new, state‑of‑the‑art heart hospital designed with one purpose in mind: delivering world‑class, patient‑centered cardiovascular care. In anticipation of our opening, select roles will begin as early as Summer 2026 , allowing you to complete comprehensive orientation and training at our nationally recognized Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospitals . This immersive experience ensures you are fully prepared, aligned with our culture, and equipped with the highest standards of clinical excellence well before the Frisco campus opens.

nJob Summary
nThe Physical Therapist 1 provides care by evaluating, planning, and implementing treatment. They also educate patients and plan discharges to maximize function.
nEssential Functions of the Role
nnnEvaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
n
nnPerforms thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Knows about reimbursement related to practice setting.
n
nnCommunicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff.
n
nnSupervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
n
nnAdvances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
n
nnDispenses knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.
n
nnMaintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.
n
n nKey Success Factors
nnnMust possess problem solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
n
nnMust have good communication skills. Be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, their family members, and facility staff.

nnExhibits exceptional face-to-face synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team. Assures excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

nnPossesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.

nQUALIFICATIONS
nnnEDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
n
nnEXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
n
nnCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
n
n nPhysical Therapist (PT)
nBasic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
