Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides skilled rehabilitative services to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. They support clinical interventions aimed at restoring mobility and improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Administer manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device utilization as prescribed.
Assess patient progress and communicate findings with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments.
Document all treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately in electronic health records following regulatory standards.
Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers about treatment plans and strategies for recovery.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Hold an active state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a PTA in LTC or rehab settings.
Demonstrate proficiency in administering therapeutic procedures and documentation standards.
Exhibit excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Be able to work effectively under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Maintain adherence to APTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethical guidelines.
