Job Summary:
Provides skilled physical therapy assistant services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, focusing on implementing treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function across various clinical settings.
Responsibilities:
Deliver therapy treatments aligned with the physical therapist's plan of care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Review clinical records and case histories to inform treatment approaches.
Document patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment to promote independence.
Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure appropriate medical equipment and discharge plans are established.
Assist in home assessments and provide therapy services at various community and off-site locations, including remote areas.
Qualifications: Hold an associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant program.
Licensed and current as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
Maintain current CPR (BLS) certification.
Possess a valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate clinical competency within 3 months of hire, with ongoing training every three years.
Preferably have inpatient and outpatient clinical experience with knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and treatment planning.
