Job description
Physical Therapy Assistant
Assist patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist by providing skilled rehabilitative treatments and interventions. Support patient progress and ensure documentation complies with regulatory and clinical standards.
Responsibilities:
Implement evidence-based treatment plans including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device use.
Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Document all interventions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately within electronic health records.
Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status, barriers to progress, and treatment plans.
Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and ongoing training sessions.
Support and supervise students and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies per clinical requirements.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid active PTA license in the state of practice.
Possess at least 1 year of PTA experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
Demonstrate proficiency with documenting treatments and clinical documentation systems.
Show strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Be compliant with APTA standards, state practice acts, and ethics.
New graduates with Level II experience considered.
