Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. They support clinical objectives by applying evidence-based practices in a variety of therapeutic modalities.
Responsibilities:
Support treatment planning by implementing interventions such as manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, and modalities.
Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Document all treatments, patient responses, and clinical observations accurately in the electronic medical records system.
Provide counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers about physical disorders and care strategies.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and required trainings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Support the procurement of necessary supplies, DME, and assistive devices in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Hold an active and valid State PTA license.
Possess at least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, with LTC or rehab experience preferred.
Demonstrate proficiency in documenting clinical treatments and patient progress within one year.
Be willing to work collaboratively with supervising Physical Therapists and support students when needed.
Comply with the APTA and state practice acts, ethics, and conduct standards during practice.
New graduates with Level II experience are considered, provided they meet all licensure and experience criteria.
